The County Clerk of Dona Ana County, Lynn Ellins, has chosen to take the law into his own hands and begin issuing illegal same-sex ‘marriage’ licenses against the opinion and direction of the Attorney General. Instead of waiting for pending cases to work through the courts Mr. Ellins has abandoned his oath of office and the trust of those who elected him. Rather than uphold the law, he is choosing to pass judgment, to be a law unto himself.
This reckless behavior must be stopped. Email Governor Martinez urging her to intervene in order to restore the rule of law and the rightful definition of marriage in New Mexico.
