Share on Facebook 1 1 SHARES This was actually one of the better debates I have watched since this all started. Jake Tapper redeemed his lousy questions last time that mostly started, “Donald Trump said….” with tough and fair substantive questions in this debate. Some were more ready than others. Here are the takeaways I came up with from this debate: 1. Rubio had a | Read More »

Barack Obama has sharply criticised David Cameron for the UK’s role in allowing Libya to become a “shit show” after the fall of the dictator Muammar Gaddafi, in an unprecedented attack on a British leader by a serving US President.   Mr Obama said that following a successful military intervention to aid rebels during the 2011 Arab Spring revolt, Libya was left to spiral out of control – due largely to the inaction of America’s European allies.

At tonight's state dinner with Canada, President Obama took a swipe at Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, who was born in Canada. Via the pool report: Pool was escorted into the East Room at 8:32, where POTUS had already begun delivering his toast. POTUS spoke for about 7 minutes[.] The toast was filed with jokes. Among them: If things get out of hand, remember the prime minister used to work as a bouncer. Referencing singer Justin Bieber, POTUS said Trudeau in America may well be the most popular Canadian named Justin. POTUS also talked about shared values of equality and opportunity, saying that's having an effect on the 2016 presidential election. Where else could a boy born in Calgary run for president of the United States? POTUS raised his glass to, among other things, the great alliance between U.S. and Canada.
