Now its time to make your case. Petitions can be as formal as you want them to be. Some people prefer a series of 'Whereas…' statements, followed by a conclusion. Others prefer simply to lay out a series of facts and statements and call for specific action. This is the language readers and friends will sign their name to and the language that will be delivered to the target of your petition. Try and use language that will inspire action, and back up your statements with facts. Remember, you want people to sign you petition, and you want your target to listen.
