It is a disgrace that the institution of marriage – one of our society’s most important building blocks – is under attack.  Right now President Obama is leading an unprecedented assault on marriage.  He has declared that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) is unconstitutional, and legislation is moving through Congress to completely repeal DOMA.   The very future of marriage is at stake, and that is why we are recruiting Americans from all walks of life to stand up with us.  Please sign our petition.

As the election season heats up, all eyes will be turned on the GOP presidential race. Will the candidate who goes on to challenge Barack Obama be someone who firmly believes in protecting marriage? That’s what the NOM Marriage Pledge is designed to do—publicly commit Republican presidential candidates to pursuing five critical goals to protect marriage:

1.  Support sending a federal marriage amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman to the states for ratification.

2. Nominate to the U.S. Supreme Court and federal bench judges who are committed to restraint and to applying the original meaning of the Constitution, appoint an attorney general similarly committed, and thus reject the idea our Founding Fathers inserted a right to gay marriage into our Constitution.

3.  Defend the federal Defense of Marriage Act vigorously in court.

4. Establish a presidential commission on religious liberty to investigate and document reports of Americans who have been harassed or threatened for exercising key civil rights to organize, to speak, to donate or to vote for marriage and to propose new protections, if needed.

5.  Advance legislation to return to the people of the District of Columbia their right to vote on marriage.

Marriage and family are central, not just to the Republican Party platform, but to the votes and values of Republicans across the nation and in Illinois.

Floyd Lee Corkins, the man who shot an unarmed security guard at the Family Research Council (FRC) before being subdued, admitted in court that he used the Southern Poverty Law Center's online Hate Map to identify and target his would-be victims at FRC. Corkins had over 50 rounds of ammo and additional magazines on him when he was finally apprehended. And yet SPLC still refuses to take down their online Hate Map, even after it has been clearly shown to have helped a would-be mass murderer plot his massacre. 

We DEMAND the SPLC remove its Hate Map IMMEDIATELY.

This Hate Map does not bring hatred to light, it instigates and incites hatred towards the people and organizations it lists, many of whom do not deserve to be designated a "Hate Group" by SPLC in the first place.

The Hate must end. SPLC, take down your hate map.

Of all the scandals plaguing the Obama administration, the revelation that the Internal Revenue Service targeted Tea Party and conservative groups for harassment during the last Presidential election is perhaps the most shocking.  

But it pales in comparison to what we have been attempting to expose for over a year: that the IRS is also guilty of leaking our confidential tax return to our opponents at the Human Rights Campaign, during the time its head served as a national co-chair for President Obama's reelection campaign!  

Now that the eyes of the nation are fixed on this exploding IRS scandal, this is our opportunity to expose the truth!

Led by Sen. Diane Feinstein, Senate Democrats on the Judiciary Committee have pushed through a bill to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, setting the stage for a showdown on the Senate floor. But Senator Feinstein admits she doesn't have the votes to pass it -- so now reports indicate she's considering attaching it to the Defense Authorization bill, holding marriage hostage on this piece of "must-pass" legislation.
